From 1 to 3 March 2026, Lviv hosted the ANZ Ukraine Cooperation Forum, the first event dedicated to strengthening cooperation between Ukraine, Australia and New Zealand. The event brought together representatives from public administration, the defence sector, emergency services, humanitarian organisations, businesses and non-governmental organisations. It provided a platform for participants to exchange experiences, discuss common challenges and explore opportunities for new international partnerships.
The forum was attended by representatives of Ukrainian state institutions, including the National Guard of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Participants also included officials from ministries, chambers of commerce, industry associations and companies from Ukraine, Australia and New Zealand. The diverse range of participants enabled discussions from multiple perspectives and created an opportunity to address key challenges and potential areas of cooperation, including security, humanitarian and medical assistance, infrastructure reconstruction and economic development.
The event was designed as a platform for dialogue between different communities involved in Ukraine’s development. Participants emphasised that it was not only an opportunity to discuss the current challenges resulting from the ongoing war, but above all a space to reflect on the country’s long-term future. During panel discussions and expert meetings, issues such as national reconstruction, investment, support for society and the development of international cooperation were widely discussed.
An important part of the programme consisted of thematic panels focusing on issues such as humanitarian and medical assistance, security and economic cooperation. Participants shared their experiences from activities already carried out in Ukraine and presented projects implemented by international organisations and private partners. Many speakers highlighted the importance of cross-sector cooperation and the need to build lasting relationships between partners from different countries.
The forum also demonstrated the scale of international engagement in supporting Ukraine. Representatives of humanitarian organisations, public institutions, businesses and the defence sector presented different perspectives on cooperation, yet they shared a common goal: providing real support to Ukraine and developing long-term partnerships.
The event in Lviv also provided an opportunity to establish new contacts and exchange experiences among participants from different parts of the world. Events of this kind play an important role in building international cooperation networks that can support both responses to current challenges and Ukraine’s long-term development.
PUBIH also actively participated in the event. Its representatives took part in networking meetings and discussions with international partners, presenting opportunities for economic cooperation between Poland and Ukraine.
The ANZ Ukraine Cooperation Forum showed that international support for Ukraine goes beyond immediate assistance. Increasingly, attention is also being given to activities related to the country’s reconstruction, economic development and the building of lasting international partnerships.
