On 20 August 2026, the Polish Investment & Trade Agency Foreign Trade Office in Lviv hosted a business breakfast dedicated to the practical aspects of economic cooperation between Poland and Ukraine. The programme focused on customs and tax regulations, border procedures, international financial settlements, as well as the instruments supporting trade and investment between the two countries. Participants were welcomed by representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of Poland, the Polish Investment & Trade Agency, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv, and the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv.

The first part of the programme focused on the latest customs and tax regulations. Ivan Kerezvas, Head of the Lviv Customs Office, discussed the practical application of Ukrainian customs legislation and solutions designed to facilitate international trade. He was followed by Ruslan Haniuk, Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional Tax Office, who presented the latest tax regulations affecting foreign trade. Border procedures were also an important part of the discussion. Lt. Col. Krzysztof Łychowid, Liaison Officer of the Polish Border Guard at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv, Maj. Gen. Yurii Lysiuk of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, and Col. Oleh Burda of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine shared their perspectives on border control procedures and cooperation between the services of both countries. The discussion focused on practical solutions that could improve the flow of goods and make cross-border trade more efficient. Andriy Todoshchuk and Liudmyla Hryshchyshyna from the Association of Professional Customs Brokers also presented simplified customs procedures available to authorised economic operators, while Oksana Stetskiv, Executive Director of the Sales Division at KredoBank S.A. (PKO Bank Polski Group), provided an overview of Ukraine’s current macroeconomic situation and explained the specifics of financial settlements with Ukrainian business partners.
The programme was further enriched by presentations from business representatives. Łukasz Zygmunt, Regional Export Manager at PAGED Plywood S.A., shared the company’s experience of expanding its operations in Ukraine- from launching distribution activities to establishing its own warehouse. Ewa Zakowicz, CEO of PrimoCollect Group and Member of the Management Board of MSPPU, spoke about the day-to-day experience of Polish companies working with Ukrainian tax and customs authorities. Investment opportunities were also high on the agenda. Nazar Kohut from UkraineInvest presented the government support available to investors, along with risk mitigation instruments designed to encourage new investment projects. His presentation highlighted the opportunities available to companies planning to enter or expand in the Ukrainian market, as well as the mechanisms supporting long-term investment.
Representatives of the Polish-Ukrainian Investment & Trade Office (PUBIH) also took part in the business breakfast, using the opportunity to meet with representatives of public institutions, financial organisations and the private sector to discuss current challenges in international trade, investment opportunities and ways to further strengthen economic cooperation between Poland and Ukraine.
