On 24 June 2026, as part of the accompanying events of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 (URC 2026) in Gdańsk, a business breakfast entitled “From Recovery to Competitive Edge: Why Ukraine’s ICT/TMT Sector Is Investable Now” was held. The event was organised by BDO in Ukraine and the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers of Poland (ZPP) and focused on the investment potential of Ukraine’s ICT/TMT sector, financing opportunities, and the development of strategic partnerships between Ukraine and European countries. The event brought together representatives of investment funds, financial institutions, technology companies, telecommunications operators, digital infrastructure providers, investors, public authorities and organisations supporting economic development. Its objective was to showcase the investment potential of Ukraine’s technology sector and discuss the conditions necessary to strengthen international cooperation and attract new investment.

One of the key topics was the development of the Ukraine Investment Guide for the ICT/TMT sector, prepared by a working group led by the Kyiv School of Economics on behalf of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine. BDO in Ukraine is responsible for the analysis of the technology sector and the identification of priority investment projects within Ukraine’s digital economy. During the presentations, speakers highlighted that the current ICT/TMT investment pipeline includes projects with a total estimated value of approximately USD 6.96 billion, with external financing needs amounting to around USD 6.7 billion. They also emphasised that Ukraine’s technology sector benefits from a highly skilled engineering workforce, advanced digital public infrastructure, strong cybersecurity and artificial intelligence capabilities, and increasing integration with the European Union market. Participants agreed that Ukraine’s ICT/TMT sector should be viewed not only as resilient in the face of wartime challenges, but also as innovative, competitive and well positioned to attract international investment.
The programme featured presentations of selected investment-ready projects, as well as discussions on financing solutions, investment risk mitigation, M&A opportunities, access to European markets, and cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian technology companies. Speakers represented BDO in Ukraine, the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers of Poland (ZPP), Diia.City Union, and leading companies and institutions, including Billennium, PFR TFI, KredoBank and Allegro. Representatives of Ukrainian companies included in the Ukraine Investment Guide investment pipeline also presented their priority ICT/TMT projects.
The formal programme was followed by a networking session, giving participants an opportunity to establish new business relationships, discuss potential investment partnerships, and exchange experience related to financing and implementing digital projects in Ukraine. Representatives of PUBIH (Polish-Ukrainian Investment & Trade Office) also attended the event, using the opportunity to establish contacts with representatives of the technology sector, financial institutions and investors interested in cooperating on digital transformation initiatives and innovative technology projects supporting Ukraine’s economic recovery.
